4x Faster louvre Assembly with 4th Generation PERGOLUX Pergolas

We are making DIY outdoor living spaces a realistic choice for a wider range of homeowners at a time when material and labor costs are rising globally.

“The fourth generation of our aluminium pergola kits make outdoor living more accessible,” says Johannes Lauchenauer, CEO at PERGOLUX. “Homeowners can more easily create all-climate durability with added flexibility to customise a structure that fits their home and how they live.”

The series standardises engineering elements previously only available in upper-tier models, while the flagship Pergola 4 Pro Max introduces new capabilities at the top of the product range.

Patent-Pending Louvre System Cuts Roof Assembly Time by 75%

The louvre system on the PERGOLUX 4th generation pergola offers the most significant installation improvement in the brand's product history. Pre-assembled roof panels and redesigned click-in assembly reduces a standard 10’x10’ roof installation from approximately 1 hour to under 15 minutes. Installation testing on the brand’s largest models, which often include over 40 louvre panels spanning 19 feet, showed roof assembly could be completed in approximately 45 minutes.

“The new louvre system is so straightforward you almost don’t need the manual,” says Ankur Guar, global head of product at PERGOLUX. “We’re committed to reducing complexity at every stage of assembly. A homeowner who builds this themselves can feel just as confident in the result as one who hired a professional to do it.”

The redesigned louvre system builds on an installation philosophy that has defined PERGOLUX. Earlier innovations introduced colour-coded hardware and pre-drilled components that simplify the overall assembly process. The 4th generation models extend the easy assembly with a tool-free roof system, addressing the most time-intensive step of pergola kit installation.

All-Climate Durability Meets Smart Home Integration

Global trends in hybrid work are normalising homes as multi-function spaces. The 4th generation of PERGOLUX products treats outdoor structures as connected systems from day one. Smart home connectivity is built into all electronic elements on 4th generation PERGOLUX models via Bluetooth and Matter. Homeowners can control electronic components directly through the PERGOLUX app without a smart home system, or integrate into Apple Home, Google Home, and Amazon Alexa ecosystems using Matter-enabled devices. An extended antenna improves Bluetooth range and connection stability.

Smart home integration brings digital adaptability to PERGOLUX’s all-climate durability. Homeowners can automate motorised louvre position, lighting, and the brand’s line of accessories - including heaters and lighting - by time of day for enhanced control of their outdoor space.

Setup can be done without a specialised installer. A QR code engraved on the control box allows the system to be added to any smart home at any time, including years after installation, even when original product documentation is not available.

Structural and Performance Enhancements

Beyond faster assembly and expanded smart integration, the 4th generation of PERGOLUX pergolas introduces a series of structural and performance refinements across the lineup.

“Refinements in our fourth generation products reflect an evolution in PERGOLUX’s all-climate engineering philosophy. They improve not only how the structures endure weather, but how they operate within it,” says Guar.

Optimised Rain Management

The RainLUX drainage system has been refined with an updated drip guard to improve water channeling while reducing contact noise during louvre operation. The redesigned geometry minimises water bounce within the gutter system to keep interior spaces dry during heavy rainfall.

Expanded SnapFIT Integration

Unlike systems that require drilling into beams for accessory installation, proprietary SnapFIT accessory channels integrated into all 4th generation models allows accessory integration and easy reconfiguration without permanent modification. Homeowners can add PERGOLUX glass walls, slat walls, screens, heaters, and additional LED lighting to their pergola at any time, allowing the space to evolve or change to suit their desired use without compromising structural integrity.

Increased Structural Performance

All models are built with double powder coated 6063‑T5 aluminium Maximum wind and snow load ratings have been independently validated through TÜV-certified testing and calculation review, with performance reaching up to [450 kg/m²] snow load and [118 km/h / X mph] wind resistance, depending on model and configuration.

Expanded Pro Max Configurations

Pergola 4 Pro Max gives expanding design flexibility at the top of the range, now available in three additional size options for both freestanding and wall-mounted configurations.

All Series 4 models are constructed from architectural-grade 6063-T5 aluminium, a heat-treated alloy commonly used in commercial construction for its long-term strength and corrosion resistance. A double powder coating prevents fading and rust even in moist or coastal conditions. All models are backed by a 10-year structural warranty.

What is the difference between the PERGOLUX Pergola 4 and the Pro and Pro Max models?

The PERGOLUX 4th generation pergola lineup includes three models: the Pergola 4, the Pergola 4 Pro, and the Pergola 4 Pro Max. Each model is designed for a different level of capability and customisation.

The Pergola 4 is a manual louvred aluminium pergola designed for homeowners who want adjustable shade without motors, wiring, or electronic components. Its roof operates entirely mechanically, making it suitable for locations where electrical installation is impractical or unnecessary. It includes SnapFIT accessory channels compatible with PERGOLUX LED lighting and heater accessories, which can be controlled independently. SnapFIT channels also make the model backward compatible with PERGOLUX glass walls, slat walls, and sun screens.

The Pergola 4 Pro is a motorised aluminium pergola with electric double-walled louvres and integrated dimmable LED lighting along the beams available in warm white or colour-control RGB. Two SnapFIT channels allow additional accessory installation. Roof panels, integrated lighting, and compatible accessories can be controlled via RF remote, Bluetooth app, or voice command through Apple, Amazon, Samsung, or Google smart home systems.

The Pergola 4 Pro Max is the series’ premium aluminium pergola system. It shares the motorised double-walled louvres and smart home features of the Pro, but adds:

- A larger frame profile, with 150mm posts versus 120mm on the Pro, increasing rigidity and structural load tolerance.

- Thicker beams support longer roof spans without a center support post, creating a cleaner open view beneath the structure and more flexibility in placement to support homeowners working around existing features like doors, windows, and wall openings.

- Wider louvres increase open sky view and daylight when open, and provide more precise shade and airflow control when angled or partially closed, while maintaining structural load performance.

- Dimmable LEDs integrated directly into the louvres, creating a “floating” ceiling effect for added ambiance and theatrical lighting, available in warm white.

- Two SnapFIT channels on the beams plus an additional channel integrated into the support posts, supporting more flexible accessory placement and backward compatibility with future accessory offerings, making it easier to reconfigure the space over time without drilling.

The PERGOLUX 4th generation pergola model options follow a clear “good, better, best” structure that offers homeowners options from manual mechanical simplicity to fully integrated smart-home-ready architecture.
